Spencers Wood is a large and bustling Berkshire village with a number of local amenities making it ideal for commuters and families. Within the village you will find a Post Office, convenience store, off-licence, bakery, chemist, hairdresser, pub and Indian restaurant. The village also has its own library and village hall and there is a doctor’s surgery in the neighbouring village of Swallowfield. Within ten miles you will find three golf clubs and several leisure centres and sports facilities.
Spencers Wood has its own primary school and there are several other local primary and secondary schools in neighbouring villages as well as a number of private pre-schools. The area is also home to a number of excellent independent preparatory and public schools.
Spencers Wood is joined to the north by the village of Three Mile Cross and to the west lies the village of Grazeley. It is situated just 4 miles to the South of Reading providing good access to the A33 and M4. Reading train station is just 5 miles away and has regular trains travelling into London, which is just a half hour journey. Heathrow Airport is only 27 miles from the village.
Spencers Wood has a delightful annual carnival in September with local businesses and residents coming together to entertain the village.
