West Berkshire Council supports proposed housing allocations – Darcliffe Homes

West Berkshire Council supports proposed housing allocations

We are delighted to announce that at a Full Council meeting on 5th November, West Berkshire Council has recommended that 4.6 hectares of land being promoted by Darcliffe Homes is allocated for residential development in their emerging Site Allocations Development Plan Document.

It means that after further consultation and examination in public, if adopted, the land will be incorporated into the settlement boundary of Tilehurst.

A six week public consultation period begins on the 9th November running through to the 21st December.  The Council will then submit the proposed submission version of the document to the Secretary of State in April 2016, with Examination due to Start in June 2016.

Matthew Jeal, Land and Planning Director at Darcliffe Homes commented, “We are extremely pleased that the Council has supported our proposals and we are looking forward to working with them as the process continues.  Our professional team continue to seek opportunities locally for development as we try to support the drive for more housing in the region.”
